Our February 9th guest speaker will be John P. Gilbride, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division (NYFD). Mr. Gilbride began his career with the DEA in 1981, and after becoming a Special Agent in 1983, served in various assignments including the Newark, Philadelphia and New York Field Divisions. In 1991, he was promoted to Group Supervisor in the NYFD and then assigned as a Staff Coordinator in the DEA Headquarters/Special Operations Division in 1995. In 1997, Mr.Gilbride was assigned to the NYFD as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC). In this capacity, he managed and directed several successful enforcement operations targeting international cocaine and ecstasy distribution organizations. In 2000, he was assigned to oversee the NYFD’s money laundering operations and was promoted in 2002, to Associate Special Agent in Charge of the New York Drug Enforcement Task Force. Since 2005, Mr. Gilbride has been assigned as the Special Agent in Charge of the NYFD, the DEA’s largest field division, with a staff of 800 employees.
