President’s Message:

Last year we wrote, “If you were not able to attend our annual seminar this year, be sure to make it next year.”  Those of you who attended on November 19th know what I mean.  The NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Phil T. Pulaski, discussed the effects of DNA technology within the law enforcement community.  He described how the proper collection, preservation and testing of DNA material could be the catalyst in solving crimes when the victim is unable to speak for him/herself, and/or when there are no witnesses to the crime.  It was an excellent presentation.  I would like to thank him for taking the time to address the membership.

Our Post-Holiday Cocktail Party is once again being held at the elegant 101 Club, on January 29, 2008.  This event provides a forum to network with members of the organization, as well as, with members of the professional law enforcement community.  The event is reasonably priced and as is customary, the AAPLE Board will present a complimentary gift to the attendees.  Due to the popularity of this event, attendees must RSVP by calling our “hotline” at 917-579-7593, or by email at breilly@aaple.org, no later than January 22, 2008.  If you were not able to attend last year….. Need I say more?

Included with this mailing is a self addressed, dues remittance envelope.  I encourage you to take the time to forward your 2008 dues as soon as possible.  For those who would rather renew online, please go to the “Membership” section of our website and click the Join/Renew button.  The 2008 membership cards have been ordered and they will be included in the January mailing.

As previously stated, beginning February 2008, the AAPLE newsletter will be forwarded to the membership, via email.  In order to facilitate this process, members should ensure that we have their current email address on file.  This information may be updated on the AAPLE membership application
